I’ve never been to a film festival. I love movies, but I have a strong disdain for the celebrity culture, gossip magazines, paparazzi, and other stupid crap. Why can’t people appreciate the talent of artists without becoming slobbering idiots? I am afraid that people who go to film festivals are low-class idiots hoping to catch a glimpse of a celebrity.
Maybe the Raindance Film Festival is different. It is a film festival for “independent” film. I’m guessing that independent means not sponsored by a large wealthy production company, or maybe it means non-Hollywood.
The only reason I know about the Raindance Film Festival is because I saw an article about Julian Assange being one of the jurors. I don’t follow entertainment news.
My problem with movies is that most of the big blockbuster hits are boring, and I don’t know where to look for interesting movies. Maybe I will find some interesting and engaging movies among the Raindance feature films. Perhaps I should also search among the winners of other film festivals.
If you have any movie suggestions, please share them in the comments below. I want something different, something unpredictable.
